As you may remember, we were proud to be a key partner at the Portico and National Landlords Association (NLA) London Landlord Seminar last month. If you couldn’t make it on the night, don’t worry – we have everything you missed…
On Wednesday 22nd November (yes, Autumn Budget day!), London estate agent Portico and the NLA hosted another London Landlord Seminar at the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall. Our team was pleased to attend the event alongside our partner Landlord News, bringing you some helpful information on our products and services, as well as some lovely freebies that went down really well.
It was great to meet everyone on the night, and we hope you found the seminar informative, helpful and interesting.
If you couldn’t make it, we have a round-up of everything discussed by the experts and landlord guests at the event last month:
Firstly, the NLA’s London Representative, Richard Blanco, opened the evening as host, starting with a useful update on lending changes for portfolio landlords, before looking at the changing face of finance.
Carla Sateriale, of UK Finance, then explained why the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) is targeting buy-to-let lending, as well as how the new lending rules will affect the typical investor.
Portico’s Regional Director, Mark Lawrinson, took the guests through the latest figures on the sales and rental markets across London, including a borough-by-borough analysis of rental yields.
Following a busy break, Lawrinson looked at growing employment and improving infrastructure across the capital, pinpointing future property hotspots – the landlords were certainly interested to see where they should be targeting for future property investments!
The evening finished with a panel discussion surrounding Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), going into great detail on planning, licensing and investments.
We certainly had a great evening, and found the discussions from both the experts and audience to be incredibly helpful. We would love to see you all again there next year.
