You may think you know what a £700 a month rental property looks like – you may let one out or you may be a tenant living in one. But as prices vary so much around the UK, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what £700 can get you.

These homes all cost £700 or under per month. Which are the most shocking?

London

Attic room, Peckham – £650

This room is within a house share with three other people. The walk to the zone 2 Tube station is just a mile, and bills are included in the rent. However, the bed is in a cupboard.

Bristol

One-bedroom flat, city centre – £675

If being in the city centre, or at least having views of it, is important to you, then this apartment is just 0.25 miles from the shops, bars and restaurants of Bristol. It has a furnished living room and bedroom and a communal laundry room.

Cardiff

Two-bedroom flat, Cardiff Bay – £675

You can get more for your money in Cardiff, as this home has two double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and one en suite.
