Owning a property which is Unoccupied has its problems, so we have designed our
Unoccupied Property Insurance policy to cater for these needs.
You will find that our policy will cater for a whole host of empty property scenarios which
include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Properties which are in between tenents or awaiting tenants
- Properties which are undergoing work or renovations
- Properties where work or renovations are waiting to commence
- Properties which are being redecorated
- Properties where the owner has moved into a nursing home
- Properties where the owner is in hospital
- Probate where the owner is deceased
- Owner living or working abroad
- Owner waiting to move into the house or flat
The level of cover provided depends on the reason for unoccupancy, however, in most instances
full cover is provided including £5,000,000 property owners liability. Cover may be restricted
by us if major structural renovations are being made to the property.
A discount is provided if the Unoccupied Property is furnished for normal habitation (Level 2 cover)
and we provide a 50% discount if you wish to restrict cover yourself (Level 1 cover).
Should your property become tenanted at any time you can simply amend your policy to our Landlord Insurance
cover, which would then meet your new requirements.
